HÀ NỘI — HCM City and Hà Tĩnh earned two gold medals apiece during the morning section of the National Youth Athletics Championship at Thống Nhất Stadium yesterday in HCM City.
Phan Hoàng Nam of the host team won his title in the boys’ long jump, for boys aged 12-13 years old, with a result of 5.63m.His teammate, Huỳnh Ngọc Mỹ, claimed gold in the girls’ shot put category for girls aged 14-15 years old with a throw of 11.56m.
Hà Tĩnh, meanwhile, grabbed two golds in the boys’ category of 15-16 years old, 5,000m, thanks to Lê Đình Tuấn (16min, 8.16min), who also won the 4x800m relay with a time of 8:26.82.
Four other cities and provinces - Hà Nội, Đồng Nai, Sóc Trăng and Lạng Sơn - also pocketed titles yesterday.
