Green papaya salad (Som Tam in Thai and gỏi đu đủ in Việt Nam) is a spicy salad made from shredded unripe papaya. Originating from ethnic Lao people living in present-day Thailand, it is also eaten throughout Southeast Asia. Som Tam, the Thai variation, was listed at 46 on the world’s 50 most delicious foods compiled by CNN Go in 2011.

Ingredients:     serves  1

- 150g raw papaya  

- 50g long bean  

- 10g carrot

- 10g peanut  

- 10g dry shrimp  

- 5g chili  

- 5g garlic  

- 40g tomato  

- 80g salad dressing

Method:

- Put the peanut chili garlic and dry shrimp in the papaya.

- This is to be lightly crushed and seasoned with salad dressing.

- Add long beans and tomato, and mix well.

- Transfer to a serving dish.
