HÀ NỘI Fighter Nguyễn Trần Duy Nhất has earned a spot in the semi-finals of the World Muay Thai Championships in Bangkok.
Nhất beat Saif Zakzook of Jordan in the quarter-finals of the men’s 60kg category on Thursday.
Nhất defeated Kim Falk of Sweden and Argen Kerimbekov of Kyrgyzstan in the qualifying rounds.
The seven-time world champion will face Sercan Cok of Turkey – who beat Konstanstin Tryshin of Ukraine in the quarter-finals – in the semi-finals today at Hua Mak Stadium.
Other Vietnamese representatives, Bùi Yến Ly and Huỳnh Hà Hữu Hiếu, secured their spots in the semi-finals of the women’s 51kg and 45kg categories, respectively.
The Muay Thai World Championships, which is also the second qualifying event for the 2021 World Games in the US, will end on July 29. VNS
