HÀ NỘI — The national tennis team will compete at the Davis Cup, Group III, Asia/Oceania Zone in Singapore next month.

As world No 66, Việt Nam are seeded first ahead of Iran (No 72), Kuwait (No 73), Qatar (No 83), Sri Lanka (No 87), Syria (No 92), Malaysia (No 96) and the hosts (No 100).

The draw of the event will be held in the next few days while the tournament will be on June 26-28.

The top teams will be promoted to Group II while the bottom two will drop to Group IV.

Việt Nam's top players such as No 1 Lý Hoàng Nam, national champion Trịnh Linh Giang and experienced Phạm Minh Tuấn and Lê Quốc Khánh will be led by captain Trương Quang Vũ.
