HÀ NỘI — The Vietnamese Embassy in Russia encouraged members of its staff to enjoy the 2018 World Cup at a ceremony held a day before the start of the event.

At the ceremony held June 13, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Ngô Đức Mạnh wished embassy staff an enjoyable World Cup, and asked them to pay attention to Vietnamese citizens visiting Russia to watch the matches.

All staff members of the embassy received a World Cup 2018 shirt at the ceremony.

The embassy has been decorated with the national flags of the 32 participating countries and images of Zabivaka, the official mascot of the tournament. Mạnh said he expects Việt Nam to take part in the World Cup in the near future. Screenings of matches have been scheduled at the embassy, with some scheduled after work hours. The FIFA World Cup 2018 will take place in 12 stadiums in Russia from June 14 to July 15. — VNS
