Việt Nam win golds at Thai competition

Việt Nam won three gold medals at the four-day Thailand Open Track and Field Championship, which closed yesterday in Bangkok.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam won three gold medals at the four-day Thailand Open Track and Field Championship, which closed yesterday in Bangkok.

Trần Đình Sơn won the first title in the men’s 400m event with a time of 46.70sec.

His female teammate, Khuất Phương Anh, triumphed in the 1,500m category, running in 4min 35.41sec.

Nguyễn Thị Hồng Thương had her great day after winning in the women’s discus throw with a result of 45.38m.

Vietnamese athletes also earned a silver medal in the women’s 400m by Nguyễn Thị Hằng (54.64) and two bronze medals, with victories in the men’s 400m by Lương Văn Thao (47.68) and in the men’s hammer throw by Đỗ Tấn Trưởng (53m). — VNS
