HÀ NỘI — Goalkeeper Đặng Thị Kiều Trinh of the Việt Nam national women’s team will be presented the Labour Order, third class, for her contribution to national football.
Other members of the national team will receive certificates of merit by the Prime Minister.
The award ceremony will be held after the team finishes their stint at the Asian Women’s Cup, which is underway in Jordan.
Trinh, 32, has many titles to her credit, both individual and for the team.
She has won three Golden Balls for Best Player of the Year in 2011, 2012 and 2017.
She is second after her senior Đoàn Thị Kim Chi, who has four.
Trinh, who belongs to Đồng Tháp Province and plays for HCM City FC, has competed in five Southeast Asian Games, winning three golds and two silvers.
Her team won twice in 2006 and 2012 at the Southeast Asian Championship and came fourth at the 2014 Asian Games.
On the domestic front, Trinh helped HCM City win the national championship six times. The team are currently the defending Champions.
After the tournament in Jordan, Trinh and her teammates will participate in the regional championship from June 21 to July 4 in Indonesia. — VNS
