Davis Cup begins today in Hà Nội

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam is the No 1 seed in Group A of the Davis Cup, Asia/Oceania Zone Group III, which begins today in Hà Nội.

The hosts, who rank No 67 in the world, are in the same pool with Cambodia, Pacific Oceania and Malaysia, following a draw that was held on Sunday.

Group B gathers together Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Syria. Among them, Kuwait, world No 73, is ranked as the top seed.

Matches will start at 5pm at the Mỹ Đình Athletics Complex from April 2-7.

The top two teams will take part in the semi-finals. The two winners of the last-four rounds will be promoted to Group II for next season.

There is no entrance fee for supporters. For those who can not watch at the stadium, matches will be live aired on Thể thao TV/ Thể thao Tin tức HD, and apps such as VTVcab ON and youtube VTF Media. — VNS
