U23 players yet to receive promised bonus

HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam Football Federation (VFF) said so far some VNĐ15 billion (US$673,000), one third of what people had promised for the national U23 team, had come to its account.

VFF said after the U23 team’s success at the continental tournament, 43 enterprises and individuals announced bonuses in cash for the players.

As of February 1, of the promised amount, VNĐ34,255 billion, plus nearly VNĐ10 billion that was promised during a meet between the squad and HCM City fans on Sunday, were yet to be received. This amount does not include individual bonuses for players.

VFF said it would urge enterprises and companies to deliver on their promise before Tết (Lunar New Year).

The names of those who have already presented cash are listed at the VFF office.

Based on the contribution, players and coaches will receive different bonuses divided into four different levels. — VNS
