HÀ NỘI — Leading teams from across the country took part in the National Beach Volleyball Tournament which opened in Phan Thiết City in the southern province of Bình Thuận yesterday.

Sixteen female teams and 17 male teams came from 10 cities and provinces such as Hải Phòng, Khánh Hòa, HCM City and Cần Thơ.

The event aims to develop beach volleyball nationwide and give athletes a chance to hone their skills and gain experience.

According to Nguyễn Ngọc Hạnh, deputy director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this year’s event has attracted a number of top teams so is sure to see many exciting matches. — VNS
