HÀ NỘI — The HCM City team won five gold medals in the National Junior Finswimming Championships at the Mỹ Đình National Sports Complex in Hà Nội on Wednesday.

In the 50LC metre category of women 17 and under, Tạ Hoàng Minh Anh of HCM City took home a gold medal with a time of 19.26secs. Lưu Thị Thanh Thu and Trần Thị Huyền Trang of Hà Nội were the runners-up.

On the men’s side, Trần Trung Thành of HCM City also bagged a gold medal with a time of 17.53secs. Nguyễn Duy Anh of Đà Nẵng and Hoàng Anh of National Defence Sports Centre 5 finished second and third.

In the 50LC metre category of men 18 and over, Nguyễn Thành Lộc of HCM City took the lead with a time of 15.51secs. Nguyễn Trung Kiên of Hà Nội and Nguyễn Đình Dũng of Thanh Hóa took silver and bronze medals, respectively.

On the women’s side, Trần Thị Trúc Linh beat Nguyễn Thị Lan Vy and Hoàng Thị Tâm of Đà Nẵng to take a gold medal with a time of 19.18secs.

After three days of competition, HCM City has the lead with 15 golds, seven silvers and six bronzes. The National Defence Sports Centre 5 is second with 10 golds, eight silvers and nine bronzes. Quảng Bình came in third with seven golds and six silver medals. — VNS
