Defender Đăng Văn Tới of Việt Nam U20 team can’t compete in the coming FIFA U20 World Cup 2017 because of ankle injury during the training in South Korea for the FIFA U20 World Cup 2017.

HÀ NỘI — Defender Đăng Văn Tới of Việt Nam’s U20 team has been ruled out of the upcoming FIFA U20 World Cup after inuring an ankle during training in South Korea for the tournament.

The team’s training staff said he will be sidelined for at least three weeks.

Earlier, Bùi Tiến Dụng and Trương Văn Thái Quý were also rulked out through injury.

Without Tới, Việt Nam have only six defenders in their squad.

Coach Hoàng Anh Tuấn will soon choose a player to replace Tới.

Việt Nam are in group E for the tournament, which will begin on May 20 with the final scheduled for June 11, alongside France, Honduras and New Zealand.

Việt Nam will meet New Zealand on May 22, France on May 25 and face Honduras  three days later. — VNS
