HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam have to beat Laos in their last group round match today to advance to the knock-out stage of the ASEAN Football Federation’s U15 Girls’ Championship in Laos.

Việt Nam currently stand at No 4 of Group A with three points as many as Laos who are at third position.

Both teams must win and hope Malaysia defeat second-place Myanmar in the earlier match at the KM 16 Stadium in Vientiane to go on next round. Myanmar, at second with six points, need only a draw to become the group’s runner-up. Malaysia have been disqualified.

The runner-up will play the Philippines, the Group B’s leading squad on Thursday in the second semi-final match.

Thailand, who top Group A with 12 points, qualified for the semi-finals and will play Group B’s runner-up Cambodia in the first semis. — VNS
