Nam advances at Việt Nam F5 Men’s Futures

HÀ NỘI — Lý Hoàng Nam booked a berth in the quarter-finals of the Việt Nam F5 Men’s Futures tennis tournament’s singles category yesterday in Bình Dương Province.

The local defeated No 2 seed Kelly Dayne of Australia 6-4, 6-3. He will play Fujii Shinta of Japan who beat his fellow countryman Okamura Issei 6-3, 7-6 (3).

In other activities, No 4 seed Xin Gao of China trounced Sora Fukuda of Japan 7-6 (5), 6-4, 6-3; Chinese Bowen Ouyang, No 7, won 6-0, 6-4 over Thai Wishaya Trongcharoenchaikul.

Today, Nam will pair with his teammate Nguyễn Hoàng Thiên to play No 3 seed Bowen and Ito Yuichi in the semi-finals of the doubles event. — VNS
