HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam dropped a victory in a 1-1 match against Myanmar during a friendly tournament for U19s, KBZ Bank Cup, in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

Tấn Sinh opened the score for the visiting side from a penalty at the 22nd minute.

The Vietnamese continued to dominate a game that both sides wanted to win to ensure first place at the ranking table.

Việt Nam nearly grabbed their second victory until goalkeeper Đỗ Sỹ Huy made a mistake in the box area, causing a penalty kick for the host. Shwe Ko succeeded in levelling the result at the 82nd mark.

With one win and one draw Việt Nam are at the top of the four-side tournament.

In an earlier match, Thailand beat Japanese Consadole Sapporo Club’s U18 squad 3-1 at the Mandalar Thiri Stadium.

In the next round, Việt Nam will face Consadole Sapporo and Thailand will play Myanmar tomorrow.
