HÀ NỘI — Phú Thọ defeated Hà Nội 2-1 in the final match to win the title of the annual futsal tournament for disadvantaged children.

The event ended on June 1 in the south central province of Khánh Hòa.

In the third-place playoff match, HCM City defeated Cà Mau 7-4.

Phú Thọ’s Giàng A Chờ won the best scorer award with 17 goals. Hà Nội’s Bạch Anh Tuấn won the best footballer award, while Tuấn’s teammate Đỗ Thiên Phú won the best goalkeeper award.

The event drew the participation of eight teams, which were divided into two groups. They competed in a round robin format with the top two teams of each group entering the semi-finals.

The winning team pocketed VNĐ30 million (US$1,300) and the trophy.

The tournament was co-organised by the HCM City’s Police newspaper and the Việt Nam Sports newspaper. – VNS
