The hot weather in the central region could not prevent Lê Văn Duẩn of VUS HCM City from grabbing his second win at the HCM City Television Cycling Cup yesterday.
Duẩn cycled the six stage 162km from Đồng Hới City, Quảng Bình Province, to Huế City with a time of 4hr, 2sec.
His first win was the third stage on Tuesday.
Yellow jersey holder Nguyễn Thành Tâm of An Giang finished second and maintained his place as leader of the tour. He also kept the green jersey for best cyclist.
Hoàng Thanh Tùng of Military Zone 7 secured the yellow jersey as the best young athlete after six stages.
With Duẩn’s victory, VUS HCM City stand stably on top of team rankings.
Riders will have a day off today.
The competition will be back on Sunday with a 42km course around Tràng Tiền and Phú Xuân bridges in Huế. — VNS
