Việt Nam’s Lý Hoàng Nam, ranked eighth at the second ITF Junior Masters, which ended yesterday in China.

Nam, ranked number 870 in the world, lost his three matches to Marcelo Tomas Barrios Vera of Chile, Alvaro Lopez San Martin of Spain and Orlando Luz of Brazil in the boys’ singles event.

South Korea’s Hong Seong Chan, has followed in the footsteps of Andre Rublev by winning the Masters after a successful week in Chengdu. He beat top seed Casper Ruud of Norway 7-5, 6-3 in the final, scoring three straight-set wins on the trot.

On the girls’ side, Russian Anna Blinkova defeated No 1 seed Katie Swan of Great Britain 6-4, 6-7 (1), 7-6 (4) to capture the title. -- VNS
