Viet Nam’s Vietinbank won the VTV Bình Điền Long An Women’s Volleyball Tournament yesterday in Ninh Bình Province.
Vietinbank defeated Chinese Jiangshu club 25-23, 26-24, 21-25, 39-37 in a thrilling final match that lasted two-and-a-half hours.
Earlier, Bình Điền Long An took the bronze medal after their 25-21, 14-25, 25-18, 25-23 win over Liên Việt Postbank in the third-place playoff match.
The tournament provided a prize of US$48,700, and Vietinbank walked away with $15,000.
Apart from the top three medals, the organisers also presented awards to top individuals such as best player, libero and spiker, as well as Miss Volleyball.
Eight clubs competed at the annual event, which ran from March 19-27. -- VNS
