NINH BÌNH — Nguyễn Viết Gia Hân won the eighth leg of the Vietnam Golf Association Junior Tour on September 22 in Ninh Bình Province.

Due to bad weather, many competitions were cut short, including the boys' and girls' U18, boys' U15 and boys' U13, which were cut to two rounds, and the boys' and girls' U11, U8 and U9, which had only one round.

After two days, Hân scored a 2-over 146 to top the overall ranking table, securing her second win this season. Her first win was during the fourth leg in May.

"I was in second place after the first round with two strokes more than the leader. However, I came back and finally took the top position. It was a surprise," said Hân.

"Although the rain affected our competition, I was fine with the conditions. I think the junior tour has really helped me improve my technique, skills and experience for further competitions."

Nguyễn Bảo Phát came second with 5-over 149 and Nguyễn Phương Quỳnh was third with 6-over 150.

But it was Lê Minh Nghĩa who took the limelight on the last day, as he scored an eagle at hole 13. Nghĩa finished at No. 6.

Other winners were Phạm Thế Nam in the boys' U18 (7-over 151); Nguyễn Quang Za Vinh in the boys' U15 (12-over 156); Nguyễn Khánh Linh in the girls' U11 (2-under 70) and Nguyễn Thái Sơn in the U8 and U9 (4-over 76). VNS
