QUẢNG NINH — Quảng Ninh won one gold medal at the National Sport Games' pencak silat at the Hà Lầm Coal Company's Gymnasium in Hạ Long City.

Nguyễn Xuân Trúc defeated Lê Bá Kết of Thanh Hóa in the men's 65kg category final after three two-minute aggressive rounds.

In addition to Trúc's title, the hosts also grabbed a silver through Đặng Thành Công who lost to Vũ Văn Kiên of Thanh Hóa in the men's 60kg; and a bronze for Bùi Đình Quyết in the men's 70kg pool.

They competed in seni (performance) and 23 tanding (combat) weight disciplines ranging from 50-75kg for women and 50-110kg for men.

After seven days of competition, Thanh Hóa topped the medal tally with four golds, three silvers and three bronzes. Hà Nội came second (4, 2, 4) and An Giang were at third (2, 2, 0).

The hosts Quảng Ninh placed No 10 with one gold, one silver and one bronze. VNS
