HCM City plans to inspect the conditions of bridges and ensure safety after a barge hit the Ghềnh Bridge recently on Đồng Nai River, causing it to collapse.

Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng has approved a proposal from the Ministry of Transport and Việt Nam Railway to spend VNĐ298.5 billion (US$13.5 million) to restore Ghềnh Railway Bridge, which collapsed on Sunday after being hit by a barge carrying 800 tonnes of sand on Đồng Nai River.
