Two held accused of trafficking heroin

The Điện Biên Đông District Police yesterday morning temporarily seized two people for illegally transporting more than two kilogrammes of heroin.

ĐIỆN BIÊN — Điện Biên Đông District Police yesterday arrested two people suspected of smuggling more than two kilogrammes of heroin into Viet Nam.

The information was revealed by senior lieutenant-colonel Nguyễn Tuấn Anh, head of the district police division.

The arrested men are Lầu A Mua, 19 and 23-year-old Lầu A Chá, 23. They two accused are brothers from Xa Dung B Village, Xa Dung Commune.

At about 8.30am yesterday, while working in Pú Nhi D Village, Pú Nhi Commune, the district police saw the brothers acting suspiciously.

The drugs, which are thought to have originated in Laos, were discovered by officers.
