HCM CITY – More than 100,000 holidaymakers are expected to visit the south-central coastal province of Bình Thuận during the nine-day Tết holiday, according to its Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

This represents an increase of 22 per cent over last year.

Foreign visitors, mainly from Russia, Germany and China, will number around 36,000.

Motels and hotels in the province are expected to operate at 70-90 per cent of capacity, particularly between February 6-10. The New Year holidays are from February 2 to February 10 this year.

Hotels in the Hàm Tiến-Mũi Né area are all fully booked.

The department has directed tourism management boards to ensure price listings are adequately done and also pay attention to food hygiene and safety and sanitation.

The department has arranged traditional sports activities such as boat racing on the Cà Ty River, mountain climbing in Tà Cú and jogging on sand dunes to maximise tourists’ enjoyment. — VNS
