CẦN THƠ — The Việt Nam Women’s Union organised a training class on Tuesday to enhance business knowledge for more than 200 women small-scale entrepreneurs in Cần Thơ City.

It was organised under a nationwide programme to support small businesswomen run by the Việt Nam Women’s Union and consumer company Unilever.

The participants were taught business planning, financial management, customer service, and how to select products, services and brands.

The women were also taught different business models suitable for each household.

With plans to open a grocery store at home, Nguyễn Thuỷ Tiên of Cái Răng Ward joined the training class hoping to gain the knowledge and skills needed to start her business.

Nguyễn Tam Điệp, a representative from the Việt Nam Women’s Union, said that between 2022 and 2024, the union organised 20 training courses on business start-up for 4,000 women around the country and provided funding for 60 start-up projects.

The programme targets women with business ideas or those running small businesses, especially those with financial difficulties or those lacking business skills and knowledge.

It also offers training in the use of digital technologies in sales besides financial support.

Điệp said the programme has enabled many women to access resources and improve their economic prospects. — VNS
