HCM CITY – Authorities in HCM City’s District 3 have handed over 7,166sq.m of land for the construction of metro line No 2 between Bến Thành and Tham Lương.
The district People's Committee held a ceremony on March 12 to mark the handover to the Management Authority for Urban Railways of HCM City.
A spokesperson for the People's Committee said the district would resolve difficulties faced in acquiring the remaining lands since some households have refused to part with theirs.
More than 89 per cent, or 522 out of 585 land owners, have complied.
The route will run a total length of over 11km, including 9.1km below ground, and have nine underground and one elevated stations. It will pass through districts 1, 3, 10, 12, Tân Bình, and Tân Phú.
It will cost an estimated VNĐ47.89 trillion, with official development assistance loans accounting for VNĐ37.49 trillion and the Government providing the remaining VNĐ10.4 trillion. - VNS
