HÀ NỘI — Doctors nationwide conducted nearly 7,300 surgeries in the first three days of Lunar New Year holiday from February 9 to 11, according to the health ministry.
Among those, there were 1,908 emergency operations.
All healthcare facilities across the country have been on duty around the clock and provided emergency service for 33,185 patients in this period, increasing 8.1 per cent compared to normal days.
There were 3,017 emergency cases related to traffic accidents, decreasing 10.7 per cent compared to last year’s holiday.
According to the health ministry, no food poisoning cases have been reported.
On February 11, the second day of the Lunar New Year, 83 traffic accidents were reported nationwide, killing 28 people and injuring 87, according to the National Committee of Traffic Safety.
The same day, police nationwide issued 7,846 traffic violation fines, including nearly 4,000 drink driving violations. — VNS
