HÀ NỘI — A total of 12,029 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in Việt Nam on Thursday.
So far the country has had 10,533,164 patients, ranking 12th out of 227 countries and territories worldwide.
All of the new cases were domestic. The number of new infections was down by 1,242 compared with yesterday.
The new cases were reported in 59 out of 63 provinces and cities across the country.
9,074 transmissions were detected in the community.
The capital city of Hà Nội led the country with 986 cases.

8,693 patients were declared recovered from the virus, with 9,076,927 people given the all-clear so far.
Nine fatalities related to COVID-19 were reported in Đồng Nai (2), Đắk Lắk (1), Kiên Giang (1), Lâm Đồng (1), Sóc Trăng (1), Tây Ninh (1), Trà Vinh (1) and Vĩnh Long (1).
