39,334 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Việt Nam on Friday

A total of 39,334 new COVID cases were reported in Việt Nam on Friday. It is the lowest daily number of cases since February 15.

HÀ NỘI — A total of 39,334 new COVID cases were reported in Việt Nam on Friday, the lowest number of daily cases since February 15.

The new transmissions bring the total caseload in Việt Nam to 10,128,047 since the start of the pandemic.

Out of the new cases, one was imported and quarantined upon arrival.

Hà Nội still had the highest number of infections, with 2,897, followed by Yên Bái (2,115) and Bắc Giang (2,052).

Bắc Giang also registered an additional 25,763 cases after review.

The other areas recording new transmissions were Phú Thọ (1,992), Nghệ An (1,891), Lào Cai (1,687), Bắc Kạn (1,408), Đắk Lắk (1,381), Vĩnh Phúc (1,326), Quảng Ninh (1,187), Quảng Bình (1,045), Thái Bình (993), Hải Dương (958), Thái Nguyên (945), Lạng Sơn (924), Hưng Yên (911), Tuyên Quang (906), Cao Bằng (843), Hà Giang (760), Bắc Ninh (738), Vĩnh Long (660), Sơn La (637), Hòa Bình (565), Bình Định (563), Lai Châu (543), Bến Tre (533), Hà Nam (498), Nam Định (496), Quảng Trị (494), Hà Tĩnh (490), Tây Ninh (482), Ninh Bình (470), Gia Lai (467), Đà Nẵng (453), Hồ Chí Minh City (443), Quảng Ngãi (436), Cà Mau (432), Điện Biên (427), Bình Phước (392), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (326), Bình Dương (302), Thừa Thiên Huế (252), Quảng Nam (249), Đắk Nông (243), Phú Yên (227), Thanh Hóa (189), Hải Phòng (177), Khánh Hòa (135), Kiên Giang (128), Trà Vinh (112), Bình Thuận (105), An Giang (100), Long An (97), Bạc Liêu (86), Kon Tum (37), Sóc Trăng (31), Đồng Tháp (29), Cần Thơ (28), Đồng Nai (24), Ninh Thuận (9), Hậu Giang (5) and Tiền Giang (2).

35 COVID-related deaths were also announced.

60,609 patients fully recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 8,455,675.

There are currently 1,797 severe cases being treated in hospital, including two on life support. 

865,209 doses of vaccine were administered on Friday, bringing the total to 208.2 million doses. — VNS
