54,995 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Việt Nam

The health ministry announced 54,995 new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday, an increase of 6,280 cases compared to yesterday.

HÀ NỘI — The health ministry announced 54,995 new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday.

Hà Nội continued to lead the daily total with 5,199 cases reported.

The remaining transmissions were detected in Nghệ An (2,925), Phú Thọ (2,827), Bắc Giang (2,357), Yên Bái (2,280), Hà Giang (2,024), Bắc Kạn (1,990), Quảng Ninh (1,972), Đắk Lắk (1,901), Vĩnh Phúc (1,824), Lào Cai (1,766), Quảng Ngãi (1,504), Hưng Yên (1,398), Tuyên Quang (1,249), Hải Dương (1,248), Cao Bằng (1,233), HCM City (1,158), Thái Bình (1,152), Quảng Bình (1,113), Thái Nguyên (963), Tây Ninh (940), Lâm Đồng (930), Sơn La (925), Lạng Sơn (876), Hòa Bình (832), Vĩnh Long (764), Bắc Ninh (731), Cà Mau (726), Quảng Trị (665), Lai Châu (662), Hà Tĩnh (633), Hà Nam (596), Bình Định (589), Đà Nẵng (586), Điện Biên (552), Đắk Nông (516), Bình Dương (514), Ninh Bình (496), Nam Định (467), Bình Phước (451), Phú Yên (393), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (347), Hải Phòng (332), Thanh Hóa (322), Thừa Thiên Huế (317), Trà Vinh (280), Khánh Hòa (273), Quảng Nam (269), Bình Thuận (232), Bến Tre (145), An Giang (94), Bạc Liêu (94), Đồng Tháp (77), Long An (70), Kon Tum (51), Kiên Giang (44), Cần Thơ (43), Đồng Nai (38), Ninh Thuận (17), Hậu Giang (13) and Tiền Giang (10).

Việt Nam’s total COVID caseload now stands at 9,922,040, ranking 12th among 227 countries worldwide.

A total of 303,455 COVID patients were given the all-clear, bringing the total number of recoveries to 8,147,290 since the start of the pandemic.

2,055 patients nationwide are seriously ill with the virus, including two on life support.

There were 39 COVID-related deaths recorded, putting the total fatalities nationwide at 42,681, or 0.4 per cent of infections.
