HCM CITY — Philips, a global leader in health technology, has signed a memorandum of understanding on education services with the Nam Cần Thơ University for three years starting in 2022.
The two will work to equip healthcare students with clinical knowledge and skills in diagnostic imaging, critical care and emergency equipment.
The partnership will seek to provide final-year radiography and general medicine students training in basic and advanced programmes in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT) imaging, interventional and ultrasound imaging, and clinical utilities of emergency and critical care equipment.
The Nam Cần Thơ University Medical University Centre with 300 beds and 14 specialties is set to open in the first quarter of 2022.
Dr. Lawyer, Nguyễn Tiến Dũng, the president of the university, said: “To meet the needs of on-the-job training for students, Nam Cần Thơ University focuses on co-operation with enterprises to develop capabilities and find jobs for graduates.
“Our strategy is to co-operate with local and international partners to organise job seminars and internship projects for students to interact with real people and face real situations.
“Besides, the school constantly updates and innovates training programmes to meet [evolving] needs. Partnering with Philips with their clinical and technical know-how is one of our strategies for improving the knowledge and skills of medical students to improve the quality of care.”
