NA Standing Committee's 51st session to open on Wednesday

HÀ NỘI — The 51st session of the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee is scheduled to open in Hà Nội on Wednesday, according to the NA Office.

NA Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân will deliver an opening speech and chair the session in rotation together with the Vice-Chairpersons.

The committee will give opinions on the draft revised Law on Drug Prevention and Control, as well as consider and approve the draft Ordinance on Preferential Treatment for People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution (amended).

It will also consider and decide on the arrangement of district and communal-level administrative units in 2019-2021 and the establishment of Thủ Đức City in HCM City.

The committee will also decide on the establishment of Phú Quốc City of Kiên Giang Province and its wards; Tân Bình township in Bắc Tân Uyên District, Bình Dương Province; wards of Thanh Hóa City, Thanh Hóa Province; Vĩnh Thạch Trung township in Châu Phú District, Cô Tô township in Tri Tôn District, and Vĩnh Bình township in Châu Thành District, An Giang Province.

It will give comments on the summarisation of the 10th session of the 14th National Assembly and the preparation for the 11th session; as well as preparations for the election of deputies to the 15th legislature and the People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure. — VNS
