HÀ NỘI — The Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP), the Communist Party of China (CPC), and the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) have sent congratulatory messages to the Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPV) Central Committee on the occasion of the CPV’s 90th founding anniversary.
First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba's Central Committee Raul Castro Ruz, and Chairman of the Workers’ Party of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong-un also extended congratulations to Party General Secretary and President Nguyễn Phú Trọng.
In its congratulatory message, the LPRP Central Committee described the birth of the CPV on February 3, 1930, as an important historical turning point in Việt Nam’s revolution.
Over the past nine decades, the CPV has led all victories of the Vietnamese revolution in the fight for national independence and freedom, the building of the first socialist country in Southeast Asia in 1945 and the liberation and reunification of the country in 1975.
The CPV later initiated the đổi mới (renewal) process and made great accomplishments in national defence and development along the socialist orientation, according to the LPRP.
The LPRP and Lao people highly appreciate and congratulate the CPV and the Vietnamese people on these accomplishments.
“We firmly believe that under the clear-sighted and sound leadership of the CPV headed by Party General Secretary and President Nguyễn Phú Trọng, the heroic Vietnamese people will reap new achievements and implement successfully the resolution adopted at the 12th National Congress of the CPV, for the target of wealthy people, strong country and a democratic, equal and civilised society, looking towards the 13th National Party Congress,” the message read.
The LPRP said the Lao Party, State and people are committed to doing their utmost to preserving and developing the traditional friendship between Việt Nam and Laos.
Meanwhile, the Chinese party’s Central Committee said in its congratulatory message that over the past 90 years, the CPV has led the Vietnamese people to complete the cause of national liberation and reunification, and promote the building of socialism with new achievements.
“We believe that under the firm leadership of the CPV Central Committee headed by General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng, the Vietnamese Party and people will constantly strengthen the leadership of the Party and the socialist regime, promote comprehensively and synchronously the cause of renovation, and proceed to the organisation of the 13th Party National Congress with special achievements,” said the message.
The Communist Party of China said it always attaches great importance to the development of relation with the CPV and is willing to partner with the CPV to intensify strategic exchanges, boost political trust, and share theoretical and practical experiences in Party building and national governance while learning from each other and providing mutual support in exploring each country’s unique path to socialism, as well as developing China-Việt Nam relation in a healthy and stable manner.
In its congratulatory message, the Cambodian People’s Party Central Committee praised the huge achievements the Vietnamese Party, State and people have recorded in development, improving people’s living standards and enhancing the nation’s position and role in the international arena.
“The CPP highly values the solidarity, traditional friendship and comprehensive co-operation between the two Parties, States and peoples,” the message said, reiterating the party’s resolve to consolidate Cambodia-Việt Nam relation under the motto of “good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive co-operation, long-term sustainability”.
The CPP said it believed that under the leadership of the CPV, Việt Nam will gain greater achievements in realising the resolution adopted at the 12th National Congress of the CPV.
Meanwhile, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba's Central Committee Raul Castro Ruz reiterated the commitment to the fraternal bond with the CPV and Việt Nam in his message of congratulations to Party General Secretary and President Trọng.
He said the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Việt Nam-Cuba diplomatic relation in 2020 is an important event and a vivid illustration of long-standing friendship and solidarity between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong-un stressed that the CPV’s establishment helped the Vietnamese people gain victory in the fight for national liberation and reunification and in the cause of socialism building.
“We rejoice at the great accomplishments that the CPV have been attaining in building a prosperous and civilised socialist country in accordance with the wish of President Hồ Chí Minh – the CPV founder,” he wrote.
He expressed his belief that the friendship between the CPV and the WPK will be consolidated in a joint struggle to protect and complete the building of socialism.
Many communist organisations from other countries have also sent their greetings on the occassion.
They include the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Japanese Communist Party, the Workers’ Party of Brazil, the Communist Party of Belarus, the Communist Party of Bolivia, the United Left Movement of the Dominican Republic, the Mongolian People’s Party, the Communist Party of Peru, the Communist Party of Ukraine, the Communist Party of Uruguay, the Russian Communist Workers’ Party, the Communist Party of Germany, the Communist Party of Argentina, the Broad Front of Costa Rica, the Communist Party of Denmark, the Communist Party of Malta, the Communist Party of Mexico, the Communist Party of Turkey, the Communist Party of Sweden, and the International Conference of Asian Political Parties.
In their messages, the parties and their leaders highly valued the CPV’s role in the struggle for national independence and liberation in the past, as well as the building of a socialist country at present in Việt Nam. They described Việt Nam as a bright example and a source of inspiration for them to keep fighting for peace, cooperation and development of nations around the world, and expressed their wish to continue enhancing the friendship with the CPV.
Chairman of the Presidium of the Japanese Communist Party Central Committee Shii Kazuo said the CPV’s heroic struggle for independence and freedom held historic significance to the world. He also wished Việt Nam’s reforms to be successful in all fields.
Chairman of the Mongolian People’s Party and Prime Minister of Mongolia Ukhnaa Khurelsukh stressed that over the past 90 years, under the clear-sighted leadership of late President Hồ Chí Minh and leaders of the CPV, the Vietnamese people have weathered countless difficulties and challenges to continually obtain enormous achievements in the fight for national liberation and the national development.
Meanwhile, the Communist Party of Germany said the struggle for independence, self-reliance and peace of Việt Nam was unprecedented in the 20th century and will be remembered forever. Today’s struggle for a modern Việt Nam, where poverty and backwardness have been overcome, will be an example for the countries and peoples fighting for self-reliance and peace, it added.
The Communist Party of Sweden also recognised the great attainments that the Vietnamese people have harvested thanks to their tireless efforts under the CPV’s leadership, noting that the sacrifices by the Vietnamese people remain an aspiration for the Swedish party.
In his message, Secretary-General of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties Park Ro-byug described the CPV’s establishment as one of the most important events in Asia’s history. He also expressed his respect for the CPV’s role in the combat for national independence in the past and the national development at present in Việt Nam. — VNS
