BÌNH DƯƠNG — Police of the southern province of Bình Dương have arrested Lu Te Chiang from Taipei (China), wanted for illegally possessing guns and bullets.
The provincial police’s immigration management division on Monday found Lu hiding in a restaurant on Bàu Bàng Street, Lai Uyên Commune, Bàu Bàng District.
In 2010, Taipei’s Nantou City court handed down a 43-month jail sentence to Chiang for illegal storing guns and bullets. Lu, however, did not serve his sentence and escaped to Việt Nam. A wanted order was issued for Chiang the same year.
The Bình Dương Police are co-ordinating with the Immigration Department under the Ministry of Public Security to process necessary procedures to hand over Chiang to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in HCM City. — VNS
