HÀ NỘI – Việt Nam once again reiterated its resolute stance on promoting dialogue as the optimal way to resolve tensions and maintain order and peace on the Korean Peninsula, said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Lê Thị Thu Hằng yesterday on Việt Nam’s reaction to the latest test-firing of a ballistic missile conducted by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).

“Việt Nam is highly concerned about recent developments on the Korean peninsula, especially the DPRK’s repeated missile launches, which went directly against resolutions passed by United Nations’ Security Council,” Hằng was quoted as saying.

Hằng added that the maintenance of peace, stability, and creating conditions for prosperous development in the region is in the best interests as well as the “common responsibility” of every country.

Việt Nam called on countries to fully implement Security Council resolutions relevant to the issue, as well as make active contributions to the maintenance of peace, security, and stability in the region and the world. — VNS
