HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính has signed a decision to suspend Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyễn Bá Hoan from his position pending further action by competent authorities.
The suspension, effective under Decision No 1178/QD-TTg dated June 17, entitles Hoan to 50 per cent of his current salary, excluding leadership and managerial allowances.
According to the Ministry of Public Security, Hoan, formerly Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, is under investigation for allegedly taking bribes in connection with a case involving the Hoàng Long Investment Construction and Manpower Supply JSC and related units.
Prosecution proceedings have also been launched against three other officials from the Department of Overseas Labour Management for the same charge.
They are the Department of Overseas Labour Management's Director Tống Hải Nam, former Deputy Director Nguyễn Gia Liêm, and Deputy Director Phạm Viết Hương.
