The long-lasting beauty of áo dài – the traditional dress of Vietnamese women – has become the inspiration for the film Cô Ba Sài Gòn (The Tailor), which opens today in theatres around the country.

Paintings of renowned artists to be auctioned

Paintings of renowned Vietnamese artists are being displayed at Chọn Auction House and will be put up for auction this Sunday. Among the paintings featured is the sketch-on-paper portrait Cô Thành Cuối Năm Ất Sửu (Miss Thành in late 1985) by the late renowned artist Bùi Xuân Phái. 

Ngô Thanh Vân to star in Star Wars

Vietnamese movie star and director, Ngô Thanh Vân, known as Veronica Ngo, will star in the movie Star Wars: The Last Jedi, confirmed its distributor, Walt Disney Studios. Vietnamese-American actress, Kelly Marie Tran, who will also star in Star Wars, will come to Việt Nam at the end of this month before the movie hits the theatres internationally on December 15.
