LucTeam to stage ‘The Bald Soprano’

Following its productions of two widely acclaimed plays, Quẫn (Insanity) by Lộng Chương and La Jalousie du Barbouillé by Molière, LucTeam is back in L’Espace with the famous play La Cantatrice Chauve (The Bald Soprano) by Eugène Ionesco on January 12.

HÀ NỘI — Following its productions of two widely acclaimed plays, Quẫn (Insanity) by Lộng Chương and La Jalousie du Barbouillé by Molière, LucTeam is back in L’Espace with the famous play La Cantatrice Chauve (The Bald Soprano) by Eugène Ionesco on January 12.

First shown in Paris on May 11, 1950, The Bald Soprano was well received by audiences. The play is considered a pioneer of the “Theatre of the Absurd” or “tragicomedy” in the West in the 1950s.

By performing this famous play from a unique genre of theatre arts, stage director Trần Lực and his LucTeam – the first private professional drama troupe in Hà Nội – wish to bring a new and exciting experience to the city’s theatrical scene.

Tickets cost VNĐ300,000 and 500,000. The price for students and members is VNĐ150,000. Tickets are available at L’Espace, 24 Tràng Tiền Street. Tel: (024) 39362164. — VNS
