The Centre for Assistance and Development of Movie Talents (TPD) will screen The Others (2001) by Oscar-winning Spainish director Alejandro Amenábar tomorrow night.
The Others is a 2001 Spanish-American supernatural gothic horror film. Written, directed, and music composed by Amenábar, the movie stars Nicole Kidman and Fionnula Flanagan.
The film won eight Goya Awards – the Spain’s national film awards, including the Best Film and Best Director, and was the first English-language film to receive the Best Film Award.
The Others also won three Saturn Awards – an award presented annually by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films to honour science fiction, fantasy, and horror on film, including Best Horror Film, Best Actress for Kidman and Best Supporting Actress for Flanagan.
With this movie, Kidman was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in Drama and a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, with Amenábar being nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Origina.
