HCM CITY — The award-wining EDM-pop duo The Chainsmokers of the US will entertain HCM City’s residents with a concert on September 14.
The performance is part of the duo’s ongoing concert tour Memories…Do Not Open in support of their debut studio album with the same title.
Released in April, The Chainsmokers’ album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 with 221album-equivalents units.
The production includes 12 songs, including Paris, peaking at number six on the Billboard Hot 100 and Something Just Like This featuring well-known British rock band Coldplay
The duo’s concert in District 2 will see the performance of DJ and music producer Nick Martin from Greece, a rising house artist whose single Looking For Love became a summer hit in 2016
Martin has performed with superstars such as David Guetta, Alesso, and Hardwell.
Since April, the Memories…Do Not Open tour has travelled across North America, Europe and Asia, and will end in October.
The Chainsmokers was founded in 2012, consisting of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall. They became famous after 2014 with the single #Selfie, which was at the top of the music charts in several countries.
They released their first extended play “Bouquet” in 2015, of which the single Rose reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In 2016, they presented the single Don’t Let Me Down featuring American singer Daya, which brought them the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording, while their hit Closer featuring American singer-songwriter Hasley reached number one on Billboard Hot 100 and stayed in the top five for 26 weeks.
The duo was ranked 18th in DJ Magazine’s 2016 top 100 DJs list after debuting on the list at 97th in 2014.
