HCM CITY – Nineteen young women have been selected to compete in the final round of the Miss Tourism Việt Nam 2017 pageant in HCM City from March 1-11.
The finalists were selected from among 400 contestants during preliminary rounds in Hà Nội and HCM City in early February.
The finalists took part in competitions that demonstrated their talent and charity work.
At the grand finale at the Gem Center in District 1 on March 11, contestants will model traditional costumes from different regions in Việt Nam, evening dresses and swimwear.
Six candidates, five chosen by the jury and one by the audience, will take part in a question and answer session in Vietnamese, focusing on Việt Nam’s beauty, culture and tourism. They will also discuss how these special characteristics can be promoted internationally.
In a question and answer session held in English, the jury will then select the three best finalists.
The winner of the contest will receive a VNĐ150 million cash prize (US$6,600) and become Việt Nam’s representative at Miss Tourism World 2017.
The first and second runner-ups will take home VNĐ100 million ($4,400) and VNĐ70 million ($3,100), respectively.
The first runner-up will participate in the Miss Eco International 2017, while the second runner-up will compete at Miss Tourism Queen International 2017. VNS
