ĐÀ NẴNG — More than 200 golfers from Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, China, Korea and Việt Nam will compete in the JG Golf Championship in Đà Nẵng on March 25-26.
The event organisers, JG Golf Vietnam Joint-stock company, said the championship, aims to promote Đà Nẵng golf tourism to other countries, will see participants compete in a two-day 36-holes tournament at BRG Đà Nẵng Golf Resort & Bà Nà Hills Golf Club.
Golfers will be divided in four divisions with handicaps from 0-12, 13-20, 21-21 and over 28 with titles for champion, first runner-up and second runner-up prizes in each division.
The organising committee will also present awards for the Best Gross, and 16 prizes for the Longest Drive, Nearest to The Line, Nearest to the Pin, Hole in One and Hole in Two.
Competitors will tee-off in the morning on March 25th.
The event is the second golf tournament combining golf and tourism organised by JG Golf Vietnam JSC, an innovative golfing, lifestyle and tourism event firm and is tailor-made to comply with domestic and international standards.
Last year, Bà Nà Hills Golf Club was awarded ‘Best New Golf Course in Asia Pacific’ and ‘Best Golf Course in Việt Nam – first Runner Up’ at the 2016 Asian Golf Awards.
The 165ha Bà Nà Hills Golf Club, situated 25 minutes away by car from Đà Nẵng, opened in April and is the first golf course in Việt Nam to allow golfers night access due to its state-of-the-art lighting system.
The course, designed by former world No 1 Luke Donald, features 18 tour-calibre holes, stretching 7,858 yards from the championship tees.
The Bà Nà Hills Golf Club also announced the appointment of Tim Haddon – an Australian PGA member – as its new General Manager. — VNS
