HCM CITY — Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Joint Stock Corporation (SABECO) has announced it is working to source COVID-19 vaccines for SABECO’s employees nationwide.
As the COVID-19 situation in Việt Nam has become increasingly complicated, SABECO is exploring ways to work with authorities to source COVID-19 vaccines for its employees.
This initiative is part of the firm's efforts to contribute to the development of the country, something it has done for 146 years. During critical times such as these, SABECO says it is even more aware of its role and responsibility as a corporate citizen and is willing to join the efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Việt Nam.
Bennett Neo, General Director of Sabeco, said: “As a company with a long history in Việt Nam, SABECO has always been committed to contributing to the development and prosperity of Việt Nam and its people. We are committed to our role of being a responsible corporate citizen. And we show it through practical actions to ensure we prioritise the safety of all our employees. As Việt Nam faces an extremely difficult time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are willing, more than ever, to join hands and stand side by side with Việt Nam to fight this battle.”
In 2020, when Việt Nam faced its first wave of COVID-19, SABECO worked with local authorities to support frontline workers including doctors, soldiers, and COVID-19 control and prevention forces at designated isolation areas. SABECO also collaborated with companies, businesses and partners within its supply chain to purchase essential supplies and goods in support of COVID-19 prevention programmes. With this, SABECO was able to support the businesses within its supply chain as well as local partners in not only maintaining their business operations but also in providing stable employment to their respective workforce during this challenging period.
“SABECO has 44 member companies in our ecosystem and more than 12,000 employees. This initiative reflects our values of always prioritising our people and coming up with initiatives that contribute to the sustainable development and wellbeing of Việt Nam and its people,” said Neo. — VNS
