Long An aims for 9.6% GRDP growth

LONG AN – Long An Province aims for a Gross Regional Domestic Product of 9.6 per cent and a GRDP per capita of VNĐ74 million (US$3,184) for 2019.

Agriculture, forestry and fishery are expected to grow by 1.5 per cent, industry and construction by 14.7 per cent, and commerce and services by 7.2 per cent, while food output is to grow by 2.74 million tonnes.

In 2018, its GRDP grew by 10.36 per cent, higher than the goal of 9.4 per cent and highest over the last few years. Industrial production and construction also grew by 16 per cent.

Long An also gathered over VNĐ14.88 trillion for governmental budget, the highest in the Mekong Delta.

The province has over 11,000 firms, with over VNĐ273.4 trillion of registered capital. It is a leading Mekong Delta province and one of the most successful provinces in attracting FDI in the country.

Last year also saw 92 new projects with US$431.9 million of registered capital in the province.

Many firms have benefited from the province’s continuous support, such as networking with co-operatives and listening and solving firms’problems.

Agricultural production also saw development, with more and more regions in the province making use of their respective strengths for their farming activities, as well as a rise in using advanced technologies in farming and concentrated agriculture production zones. - VNS
