HÀ NỘI — A global start-up competition for Vietnamese innovators all over the world, VietChallenge 2019, launched on Wednesday evening.

The opening ceremony was organised by the Vietnamese Youth Association in the US and the Hà Nội Youth Union.

Speaking at the event, chairwoman of the Vietnamese Youth Association in the US Phan Zymaris Mai said that this was to be the fourth edition of the competition.

More than 500 documents from 21 countries were sent to the organiser in three previous competitions.

With the mission of helping develop business ideas and solving the economic challenges of Việt Nam and other countries in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, VietChallenge has connected Vietnamese startups with a team of experts in the US, bringing practical lessons to help make their young businesses successful on the international stage, said Mai.

VietChallenge 2019 will start receiving documents on Thursday. Detailed information is available on the website vietchallenge.org.

Results will be announced nine months later.

One champion team will receive prize of US$25,000. One runner-up will receive a prize of $5,000, and four teams winning third prize will receive $2,000 each.

Teams joining the competition will not only receive financial support, but will also get consultancy from experts in different fields such as computer science, robot automation and big data. VNS
