HCM CITY — ACCA Vietnam welcomed 213 new members from across the country in glittering ceremonies in Hà Nội and HCM City on June 27 and 28, respectively.

The New Member Ceremony celebrated the achievement of 213 individuals who attained the membership milestone from March 31, 2017 to March 31, 2018. The new members are part of the vibrant global ACCA community which now consists of more than 200,000 members in 183 countries.

The ceremony was graced by a number of distinguished guests from Government, local bodies, leading organisations, and top employers in Việt Nam. This celebratory evening was also a useful networking opportunity for members to meet other members and renowned employers.

ACCA President Leo Lee formally welcomed the newly-inducted ACCA members in his address and reminded them that becoming a member of the ACCA meant full support from a professional accountancy body with global reach that fully understands the important roles accountants play in both the private and public sectors and seeks to provide members with access to resources that will ensure they can reap the full benefits of what he called an exciting profession.

“This is an important event marking an increase in international qualified finance professionals in Việt Nam,” Lee said. “The ACCA qualification and their delivery are ensured to meet the diverse needs of trainee professionals and their employers as well as be open for certified accountants in developing countries.”

“I believe ACCA is the most suitable international qualification given the socio-economic and political conditions and educational system in Việt Nam,” he said. “ACCA members are complete finance professionals who play a major role and bring value to businesses.”

Lee also highlighted the ACCA’s standing as a world-renowned organisation.

“ACCA continues to work towards being regarded as the leading global body for professional accountants by reputation, size, and influence,” he said. “In this way, we strive to be always on the pulse of what is happening globally and in doing so, ensure that you have the tools to become visionaries and leaders within your respective companies.” — VNS
