HCM CITY — The HCM City People’s Committee has adjusted its master plan for industrial development by 2020, withdrawing three suspended industrial park projects covering 675ha in outlying districts.

The three industrial park proposals include Xuân Thới Thượng Industrial Park in Hóc Môn District, and Phước Hiệp and Bàu Đưng industrial parks in Củ Chi District.

The projects were removed from the master plan for various reasons, including lack of financing, land clearance problems, and poor traffic infrastructure.

In addition, the city’s People’s Committee has reduced the 173-ha area of the Tây Bắc Industrial Park project in Củ Chi District to 73ha, and is considering adjusting the scale of the Hiệp Phước Industrial Park project in Nhà Bè District.

The city has also withdrawn 22 of 30 planned industrial complexes, and changed two of them from industrial complexes to industrial parks. — VNS
