ĐỒNG NAI — The Đồng Nai Provincial People’s Committee has officially established a working group to implement the Long Thành Digital Industrial Park project, marking a significant step toward forming a digital technology industrial ecosystem in the province.
Chairman of Đồng Nai People’s Committee Võ Tấn Đức signed the decision to set up the working group, which will coordinate the implementation of the Long Thành Digital Industrial Park — also known as the Long Thành Integrated IT Park.
Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Dương Minh Dũng, has been appointed as head of the working group, while Director of the Department of Science and Technology, Tạ Quang Trường, will serve as deputy head.
Leaders from related departments and agencies will participate as members.
According to the decision, the working group is tasked with advising and assisting the provincial government in directing and coordinating the execution of the project.
This includes drafting a detailed implementation roadmap, urging relevant agencies to fulfill assigned tasks, and monitoring the overall progress.
The group will also be responsible for identifying bottlenecks, proposing solutions, and recommending necessary mechanisms and policies to ensure the effective and timely completion of the project.
The establishment of the digital industrial park aligns with the province’s broader strategy under the Politburo’s Resolution No 57-NQ/TW, which aims to create breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
On February 28, the Đồng Nai Provincial Party Committee issued its own implementation plan for this resolution, with the Long Thành Digital Industrial Park set to be the centerpiece of these efforts.
The park is envisioned as a strategic hub for cutting-edge technologies such as semiconductors, data centres, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), big data, cloud computing, and blockchain.
The province aims to build a sustainable digital industry by 2030, with Long Thành Park playing a pivotal role.
A key objective is to develop a robust data industry anchored by data centres and cloud infrastructure within Long Thành Park and other related zones.
The province also aims to attract both domestic and foreign direct investment (FDI) in cross-border data storage, transfer, and processing services hosted at the park.
By 2030, Đồng Nai seeks to ensure that total factor productivity (TFP) contributes over 60 per cent to its economic growth.
The export value of high-tech products is expected to account for at least 50 per cent of total exports.
Meanwhile, the digital economy is projected to contribute between 35 per cent and 37 per cent of provincial gross regional domestic product (GRDP), with digital economic activities making up 70 per cent of that figure.
In parallel, the province plans to invest in advanced digital infrastructure, including high-capacity and high-speed networks.
It will also focus on attracting investment in establishing a Point of Presence (PoP) for international fibre optic cable distribution — positioning the park as a key node in a future Southeast Asian Internet superhighway.
The proposed Long Thành Digital Industrial Park will cover an estimated 200 hectares across Long Đức and An Phước communes in Long Thành District.
Its location provides a strategic advantage due to its proximity to Long Thành International Airport, which is currently under development.
Experts believe that this proximity will enhance the park’s competitiveness and help integrate Đồng Nai into the wider Southeast region’s digital transformation and digital economy roadmap.
If successfully implemented, the project is expected to contribute not only to the provincial economy but also to national goals on digital transformation, technological innovation, and high-tech industrial development. —VNS
