Việt Nam is now positioned as a significant player in the global semiconductor market, with hardware and electronics exports projected to reach US$135 billion in 2024, representing over 30 per cent of total exports. The country ranks 12th globally and third in ASEAN for semiconductor exports and is the sixth largest US trade partner in this sector.
Looking ahead to 2030, Việt Nam aims to enhance engineer involvement in semiconductor design, packaging and testing, train 50,000 semiconductor engineers and develop 1,300 internationally-qualified lecturers. Key strategic actions include investing in infrastructure, boosting R&D, attracting talent and fostering international collaboration
