Thailand crowned champion of AFF HDBank Futsal Championship

The sixteenth AFF HDBank Futsal Championship officially ended on Sunday (October 27) with the championship awarded to Thailand, the defending champion.

Besides Thailand and Indonesia, which also reached the final, Việt Nam won a ticket to qualify for the Asian Futsal Championship.

The Futsal HDBank Championship Southeast Asia 2019 was held from October 21-27 at Phú Thọ Stadium in HCM City.

With more than 16 matches, the tournament left a deep impression in the hearts of fans with more than 3,000 people watching and cheering at the stadium as well as thousands of people watching online.

Thailand showed its class by winning the championship again after defeating Indonesia 5-0 at the final. This is Thailand's 15th trophy in 16 years.

Meanwhile, Việt Nam won its match 7-3 against Myanmar and won the last ticket to the 2020 Asian Futsal Championship, which will be held in Turkmenistan. This is the sixth time that Việt Nam has qualified for the Asian competition.

The Việt Nam Football Federation (VFF) and Voice of Việt Nam (VOV) performed well as the host of a major professional tournament, with the support of HDBank, the main sponsor.

This is the fourth time that Việt Nam has hosted the tournament, which was organized by VOV and VFF.

This is the second time that HDBank has been the tournament sponsor.

Vietnam prepared the facilities well and did a good job welcoming the referee team, teams and coaching boards.
